Towards the conquest of space: Challenges and perspectives of the Argentine Aerospace Police

Abstract

The article analyzes Argentine aerospace policy, examining its evolution and challenges in the context of the growing relevance of outer space. It reviews the international regulatory framework, highlighting the 1967 Space Treaty, and explores the implications of competition between space powers such as the United States (US) and China. The study makes a historical review of Argentine aerospace policies, from the allocation of orbital positions to the creation of Empresa Argentina de Soluciones Satelitales S.A. (ARSAT), highlighting the importance of technological autonomy and international cooperation for the development of the sector. It is argued that aerospace activity represents a crucial instrument to strengthen the country’s defense, national security and power projection.

    Recognized academic and specialist in Social Communication and Political Science, with solid experience in the analysis and formulation of public strategies, defense and international relations. She is a graduate of the National University of Córdoba (UNC), Argentina, where she obtained a degree in Social Communication. In addition, she completed two master’s degrees: one in Formulation and Development of Public and Private Strategies at the Center for Advanced Studies of the UNC (CEA-UNC) and another in Strategy and Geopolitics at the War College “Luis María Campos” of the National Defense University (UNDEF), where she was distinguished with merit scholarships for her academic excellence. Her commitment to research and knowledge development led her to complete her doctoral studies in Political Science at the CEA-UNC. She also obtained a PhD in National Defense from the Faculty of National Defense of the UNDEF (CABA, Buenos Aires), thus reinforcing her specialization in issues related to security and strategy. In addition, she has developed an outstanding teaching career in prestigious universities, teaching subjects related to public opinion, strategic communication and geopolitical analysis. This academic approach is complemented by an intense research work focused on the intersection between communication, power and security, evidenced in the direction and participation in academic projects, as well as in numerous publications in specialized journals and international congresses. In addition, his solid professional career is reflected in his active collaboration with renowned institutions such as the Center for Strategic Studies of the Peruvian Army (CEEEP) and the Elcano Royal Institute of Spain, where he contributes his experience and analytical perspective to debates on defense and security in a constantly evolving global context.
